October 28th was projected to be cold and rainy this year - and unfortunately a big part of the day was - BUT - we did manage to get some dry time - and even some sun in the afternoon. The ceremony was at the Academy of the Sacred Heart Chapel in West Bloomfield - always a beautiful and very easy to work in location. Then it was on to Belle Isle - It did stop raining, the sun peeked out for some dramatic skies and lighting - but the wind was very strong - We tried getting out on the tip of the island to take images with the skyline - but were nearly blown away. We were happily surprised that the fountain was even on - but I've never seen white caps on the pond between the fountain and the tip of the island. We did try to get to the docks - but were afraid to venture in too far. At least we did get quite a few romantic images outside. The Detroit Yacht Club was the elegant and prestigious setting for a great fun reception. It was my birthday - and I got to photograph a gorgeous wedding, with great people, and - I got an extra hour of sleep!
